B-Sides & Rarities Part II was compiled by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis, and contains rare and unreleased tracks dating from 2006-2020. Nick Cave described the compilation as a strange and beautiful collection of lost songs from the Bad Seeds.
The tracks compiled here, reveal the small and fragile beginnings of more well-known Bad Seeds songs. In 2021, both parts I and II were released together as a limited edition 7 vinyl box set, which included 83 rare tracks.
The finished artefact evokes the notion of a time capsule. Monochromatic throughout, the design approach was deliberately minimal – its monolithic slipcase reflecting the rawness and honesty of the content housed within. A restrained typographic treatment is coupled with metallic foils and contrasting finishes as a means of emphasising the preciousness of these tracks, their fragility – whilst serving as a gentle reminder of their rough diamond like qualities.
